Exile Island
September 9th, 2010
Sept. 9 | 9am – 7pm | Festival Park
In select cities across Canada local business leaders will be exiled with only their personal communication devices to compete in a very special fundraiser. Based on the reality show Survivor, participants will form tribes and be subject to competitions, surprises and much excitement. Each tribe will have the ultimate goal of granting a specific wish for a local child.
5th Annual Selkirk Settlers Parade
September 11th, 2010
12pm | Starting at Upper Fort Garry site
Led by the regimental pipe band and honour guard, the combined Scottish community parade commemorates the 1812 arrival of the Selkirk Settlers at Red River and celebrates the Scottish community's contributions to the building of Manitoba. The parade route this year has been changed and lengthened, and will pass the sites of the fur trade era forts from Upper Fort Garry to Fort Douglas including The Forks.
Colourful Country Barns with Watercolour at The Forks

Learn a fresh new approach to painting this old-time favorite subject. Students will learn how to paint a variety of farm scenes on colourful, spontaneous, backgrounds using different values and techniques. Beginner and intermediate levels are welcome. 10 & 10 Road Race
September 12th, 2010
8am - 11pm
The Running Room hosts two courses--one 10 km and one 10 miler--starting in Memorial Park and winding their way to Assiniboine Park and back downtown. This flat and fast course is perfect for the leisure runner. Participants receive a technical t-shirt, finisher's medal and more.

Manitoba Music takes over The Stage for its second annual musical extravaganza on September 12, as part of this year’s exciting Ciclovia event.
