We are thrilled to be able to introduce the hosts that will be on The Forks Market stage for Finding Our North Star, held at The Forks this Canada Day!
Adeline Bird: Adeline is an Afro-Anishinabe author, filmmaker, and producer. She grew up in Winnipeg but is a proud member of Treaty Four Rolling River First Nations. Splitting her time between Toronto and Winnipeg, we’re honoured to have Adeline back in her hometown to host the daytime programming for this year’s July 1 events!
Michael Redhead Champagne: Michael is an Ininew public speaker, writer, social advocate, and on-screen personality. He grew up in Winnipeg’s North End neighbourhood and is a member of the Shamattawa First Nation. As a constant inspiration to everyone he meets, we’re so excited to have Michael share the stage at Finding our North Star this Canada Day.
Issa Kixen: Issa is an Anishinaabe two-spirit comedian who is renowned for their ability to use comedy as a tool in addressing racism, homophobia, and sexism. They are also a producer, drag king, and writer living in Winnipeg and proudly from Couchiching First Nation, Ontario. We cannot wait to welcome Issa to the stage to host July 1’s evening programming.
Jasmine Tara: Jasmine is a community connector, creator, and communications consultant. She is treaty to Peguis First Nation, with a Cree and Saulteaux background, and is part settler with roots in Iceland and Europe. As a major player in our plans for Finding our North Star, it is an absolute pleasure to welcome Jasmine as a host for this year’s events.

Nous sommes ravis de pouvoir présenter les animateurs qui seront sur la scène du Marché de La Fourche à l’occasion de l’événement « À la recherche de notre étoile Polaire », qui aura lieu à La Fourche en cette journée de la fête du Canada!
Adeline Bird : Adeline est une auteure, réalisatrice et productrice afro-anishinabe. Elle a grandi à Winnipeg, mais elle est fière d’être membre de la Première Nation de Rolling River située sur le territoire du Traité no 4. Partageant son temps entre Toronto et Winnipeg, nous sommes honorés qu’Adeline soit de retour dans sa ville natale pour animer la programmation de jour des activités du 1er juillet de cette année !

Il a grandi dans le quartier nord de Winnipeg et est membre de la Première Nation de Shamattawa. Michael est une source d’inspiration constante pour tous ceux qu’il rencontre, et nous sommes ravis qu’il partage la scène de l’événement « À la recherche de notre étoile Polaire » à l’occasion de la fête du Canada.
Issa Kixen : Issa est un(e) comédien(ne) anishinaabe bispirituel(le) réputé(e) pour sa capacité à utiliser la comédie comme un outil de lutte contre le racisme, l’homophobie et le sexisme. Iel est également producteur(trice), drag king et écrivain(e) et vit à Winnipeg. Iel est fier(ère) d’appartenir à la Première Nation de Couchiching, en Ontario. Nous sommes impatients d’accueillir Issa sur scène pour animer la soirée du 1er juillet.
Jasmine Tara : Jasmine est une connectrice communautaire, une créatrice et une consultante en communications. Elle est d’origine crie et saulteuse, et visée par un traité de la Première Nation de Peguis. Elle est également en partie colonisatrice, avec des racines en Islande et en Europe. En tant qu’organisatrice principale de notre projet « À la recherche de notre étoile Polaire », c’est un plaisir absolu d’accueillir Jasmine comme présentatrice pour les activités de cette année.
