Fat Fridays Destination Ride (To The Forks for The Big Bike Chill). Come explore Winnipeg on roads and paths to new destinations every week. Bring a fat bike, or a studded steed. 20-50kms, 14-20km/h

Green Action Centre's Jack Frost Challenge — "Try It Out Day" Wrap Party
Location: Big Bike Chill Hub at the Culvert Warming by CN Stage

To wrap-up the ninth annual Jack Frost Challenge, Green Action Centre presents Try it Out Day!
This event aims to reduce barriers to entry for persons to participate in new winter activities. It allows visitors to simply ‘try it out’ to see if they enjoy these forms of movement, hopefully inspiring a new passion.
Green Action Centre’s sustainable transportation team will be set up in the Big Bike Chill Hub from 1-4 pm to provide visitors with the opportunities to try out winter sporting equipment such as fat bikes and snowshoes for free.
Green Action Centre will provide hot chocolate, educational resources, and enthusiasm for winter activities!

Beat The Cold Winter Triathlon — 1JustCity

The second annual Beat the Cold Winter Triathlon will feature a 5 km run, 5 km bike and a 5 km skate along the Manitoba 150 Trails at The Forks. Race all three sports solo or find two friends and enter as a relay team.
Your participation will help support 1JustCity’s overnight emergency warming centre, Just a Warm Sleep.
Just a Warm Sleep invites up to 25 people experiencing homelessness into Oak Table to get a safe warm sleep throughout the winter.

Bike Valet
Location: Crokicurl Rink by The Forks Market

Ride your bike to the movies! Ride to The Forks for the first ever family-friendly move in the second floor lounge and leave your bicycle with Bike Valet Winnipeg, a free and secure bike lockup service. Bike Valet will be set up on the southeast side of The Forks Market, next to the crokicurl rink and the Manitoba 150 offices.

Location: Second Floor Lounge in The Forks Market

Park your bike with Bike Valet Winnipeg at The Forks and come inside to watch the Oscar-nominated animated film, The Triplets of Belleville. Limited seating and snacks!

Bike Winnipeg Warming Hut/Art Tour
Location: Patio near South Main Access Loop by the Crokicurl Rink

Jump on a fat tire bike (or bring your own) and enjoy a tour of The Forks' Warming Huts with Sputnik Architecture and Bike Winnipeg. Sputnik is the instigator behind The Forks' annual Art and Architecture Competition on Ice. Participants will get to know the unique history of the pieces as they cycle by through fun anecdotes. A great event for all riding skill levels. Fat bikes will be provided free of charge to the first 7 registrants who request them. Register here

Ice Bike Competition and Trials
Location: Big Bike Chill Hub at the Culvert Warming Hut by CN Stage

Try out the one-of-a-kind Ice Bikes and sign up for the first ever Ice Bike Competition! The Ice Bikes were donated by UMCycle and designed by Chris Pancoe, one half of the winning design team behind the Warming Hut Huttie. The competiton will take place on the Manitoba 150 Trail near CN Stage rink. Competition starts at 2pm and Ice Bikes will be available to try until 4pm. 

February 11 | 6pm-8pm
Fat Bike Group Ride
Location: Meet at Big Chill Trail at The Forks Skate Park

Meet at the skating rink under the canopy by the Tower Atrium for a guided fat bike ride led by Big Chill Trail builder Wayne Bishop. The 2-hour ride will include Whittier Park, Seine River, the brand new Big Bike Chill trail and end at The Common. All are welcome. If you don't have a bike, you can rent a fat tire bike from White Pine Bicycle Co. or Woodcock Cycleworks for this event.

February 12 | 6pm-9:30pm
Woodcock Group Ride
Location: Meet at Woodcock Cycleworks, 433 St. Mary's Rd

Join Woodcock Cycleworks as they ride the river and singletrack trails around Winnipeg all winter. Set those tire pressures low and roll! 14-20km/h, 15-30kms.

February 13 | 7pm-9pm
Intro to Fat Biking
Location: Meet at the Big Bike Chill Trail at The Forks Skate Park

Learn to ride a Fat Tire Bike. A fun intro class open for anyone led by guest coach Wayne Bishop, groomer of the Big Bike Chill Trail. Class begins with basics: an introduction, warm up, instruction and wrap up.
Discussion topics include: attire, body position and maintaining efficient cadence. The class will take place on the Big Chill Trail. Complimentary fat tire bikes can be provided on a first come, first served basis. Email mahri.fetejockey@gmail.com to sign up for free!

Bikes and Brunch (Moveable Feast) with the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ

The tour will run from 11am to 4pm. There will be two restaurant stops – Shawarma Khan on Graham and Old Spaghetti Factory at the Forks – and the tour will take folks on a ride of the 2020 Warming Huts, the Legislative building and downtown.

Go Dutch! Valentine Date Night Ride
Location: Patio Near South Main Acess Loop by Crokicurl Rink

Winnipeg Trails Association, Plain Bikes and Fête Jockey invite all sweethearts to come and ride an imported Dutch bicycle through the Warming Hut villages with your valentine! This group ride will include cozy beverages, photoesque backdrops (perfect for proposals and selfies) and pillow talk about the history of the Warming Huts.

Join Sarah from The WRENCH for a special “crafternoon"! At this DIY art workshop, participants will make fun and unique creations such as jewellery, ornaments and key chains out of upcycled bicycle parts like inner tubes and chains. Materials and tools will be provided.
