Buskers Abound at The Forks Market
The Forks, Winnipeg – Always fun and exciting with lots of audience participation, The Forks’ annual busker auditions will fill Centre Court Friday and Saturday May 6 and 7.
Potential buskers will each have five minutes to razzle dazzle the audience and judges with their performances. They will battle it out to determine who gets the coveted Busk Pass and who goes home to practice up for next year.
“Buskers have a long tradition at The Forks,” says Andrea Clow, Assistant General Manager, The Forks Market. “They have become such an integral part of The Forks’ spirit, and visitors have come to expect the excitement they add to the site.”
Hundreds of potential buskers will be auditioning for the 2011/2012 Busk Pass, which entitles them to perform at various indoor and outdoor Busk Stops throughout The Forks.
“The live audience’s reaction will play a huge part in our judging, so we’re strongly encouraging the public to come out to support the event,” says Clow. “We are thrilled to have such great performers year after year. With only the best getting passes, we look forward to taking in this year’s tight competition.”
