Hockey Season Parking For Less Than Seven Bucks a Game - Underground at Portage Place

Downtown, Winnipeg: Season ticket holders heading downtown for hockey games at the MTS Centre need not worry about the cost and confusion of parking come game nights this fall. FNP Parking is offering a Breakaway Season Parking pass promotion in the Portage Place underground parking lot for less than seven dollars per game.

Parking pass holders will enjoy the luxury of parking underground in a heated and safe environment that is just a five-minute walk in Winnipeg’s skyway system from their vehicle to the MTS Centre. Ticket holders who have split up their season tickets can do the same for their parking. The transferrable Breakaway Parking pass costs $300 for all regular season and pre-season games, and can be shared among friends and hockey fans each game. If patrons register for one of the limited parking spots prior to October 9th, they will be automatically entered to win a free season parking pass.

“We want to be a part of Winnipeggers’ night out at the game,” says Darren Downey, General Manager of FNP Parking. “Hockey fans are going to have to work out the logistics and practicality of heading downtown for the game, and we have a great solution for them when it comes to parking. FNP parking offers a safe, heated, and well-lit parking lot that hockey fans can feel secure about leaving their car in.”

Breakaway Parking passes are valid after 4pm on game days, and the 24 hour lot never closes, so those patrons who like to come early and grab a bite to eat at one of the restaurants or stay late can do so without ever having to brave the elements. The lot is equipped with three exit points onto Carlton Street, Vaughn Street, and Ellice Avenue. The express exits allow for a quick departure in a warm vehicle after a night out at the hockey game.

FNP Parking was the first recipient of the Gold Star Standard in parking by the Downtown Biz this past June. The Biz created the Gold Star Standards program to encourage parking operators to create safer, cleaner, and more user-friendly parking lots. The lot is equipped with 1000 stalls on two levels and has made numerous improvements over the past few years, including investing in new lighting, inserting windows into stairwell doors, and having the pillars repainted. As an additional safety measure, FNP also hires the Downtown Biz’s bike patrol to cruise the lot.

For those hockey fans not looking for a full season pass but still interested in enjoying the benefits of pre-paid indoor parking, FNP also has a limited number of Power Play Parking ten-packs at a cost of $90.
