We are currently composting materials from our restaurants and fresh food producers here at The Forks Market.
Between our five full-service restaurants, 15 fast food merchants, seven fresh food producers, the hotel and all the yard trimming from the site, we generate a lot of organic waste. As a matter of fact, 80% of our “garbage” is compostable. So, we started working with an in-vessel composter called the BIOVATOR TM. The BIOVATOR TM creates the perfect conditions for the trillions of microbes and bacteria to do their work of digesting the organic matter. This biological process creates a nutrient-rich compost to use as top-dressing and soil amendment in our gardens.
