The Forks

Fun at The Forks

The Forks is Winnipeg’s backyard and front stoop. It’s a place to hang out, relax and watch the rivers flow by. It’s also a place to appreciate art and culture, and to get active. It’s all these things because of community support.

Donations made these things possible:

• Canada’s best and largest urban skatepark in the middle of downtown Winnipeg.
• The Nestaweya River Trail and its Warming Huts from across the globe that attract thousands of people and families every winter to connect and play outdoors. Winnipeggers say it’s the best part of our winter!
• Public art, like Forever Bicycles by internationally renowned artist Ai Weiwei.
• The refurbishment of Niizhoziibean, the southernmost point of The Forks and part of a pedestrian loop that connects The Forks and the neighbourhood of St. Boniface.
• Spaces for festivals and events, such as the Winnipeg Pride Festival and National Indigenous Peoples Day, that attract thousands to The Forks and build community.

The Forks is an incredible jewel that belongs to all of us. Let’s keep it amazing - now and for the future.
