Speidel, Paul

During The Forks Public Archaeology Project (1992-1993) investigation of the 3000-year-old Archaic cultural horizon, an upper occupation was discovered. Part II examines the findings from this upper occupation zone, dated to 2300-2200 years ago. Discussion is presented in the following sections: background, stratigraphy and distribution, lithic artifacts, charcoal and seed analysis, analysis of fish remains, vertebrate fauna other than fish, shellfish and snail recoveries, and interpretation.
