Projects in Progress
The Forks is committed to trying new things while keeping old things new and fresh. Here’s a brief look at a few of the projects we have on the go right now.
No Season
Alexander Docks Park
Thousands of years ago, people gathered and traded at the forks of the Red and Assiniboine rivers. We still long to be close to the water for its mysteries, stories and ability to bring community together.

Historic Rail Bridge
Work continues in 2026 on structural rehabilitation work on the Historic Rail Bridge. Last year, the giant concrete counterweight was taken down. Now, we're finishing that project with the removal of the steel structure that held that counterweight.

Lower Patio
The project is now complete. Starting in September, 2025, parts of the lower patio at The Forks will be closed temporarily as it is resurfaced. New paving stones will replace the grass that was there.

Women's Washroom
We’re in the middle of a major renovation of the main women’s washroom, located in York Boat Lane on the first floor of The Forks Market Building.

Railside at The Forks
Railside at The Forks is a new development that marks a major step forward in the evolution of The Forks, transforming two surface parking lots into a mixed-use neighbourhood.
