Chāpān Games and Teachings

The event focuses on the Chāpān Circle of Elders' healing through the medicine of laughter and having fun with traditional Indigenous games. It will feature stand-up comedy, storytelling, Chāpān teachings, sharing circles, food trucks, free food provided by The Salvation Army, a Sacred Fire, musicians, DJs, and more. The Grand Entry will take place at 11:00 a.m.

Located at the junction of the Red and Assiniboine rivers, The Forks (also known as Nestawaya in Cree) has been a meeting place for over 6,000 years – located on the original lands of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota and Lakota peoples and resides in the National Homeland of the Red River Métis.
