7th Annual The People’s St. Paddy’s Day Run & Walk

The People's St Paddy's Day Fun,Run,Walk is holding their 7th year we will be using a small area of The Winnipeg Forks for a Charity fun,run,walk 5k-5MILER supporting Habitat for Humanity on March 17th,2019. The route will be very short this year we are starting at The Norwood Community Center but going through The Forks and back to the finish at The Norwood Community Center on 87 Walmer Street

Located at the junction of the Red and Assiniboine rivers, The Forks (also known as Nestawaya in Cree) has been a meeting place for over 6,000 years – located on the original lands of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota and Lakota peoples and resides in the homeland of the Red River Métis. In this spirit, all staff and administration here respect the Treaties that were made on these territories, acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past, and dedicate ourselves to move forward in partnership with Indigenous communities in a spirit of reconciliation and collaboration.
