Drop the Needle, Pick up the Pace Memorial/Awareness Walk
Winnipeg is on the map as the 16th place in Canada to walk for Overdose Awareness after the first Drop the Needle, Pick up the Pace Memorial Awareness Walk started last year. This August 31, which is International Overdose Awareness Day, the event will continue with Mayor Brian Bowman lighting the Winnipeg Sign up purple.
Schedule of events:
6:00 PM- Registration table opens and Sensational Sound performs. The first 250 people to sign in will receive a complimentary bottle of water and a purple glow stick necklace
7:45 PM- 5K walk begins
Other activities include a raffle, a group photo in front of the Winnipeg Sign before the walk, a hot dog cart on-site, and Miss Market Friends for children!
