Advance voting will be held at The Forks from August 29 to September 5. Visit us in the 201 Space on the second floor of The Forks Market beside Dconstruct Jewellery. You will need ID to vote.

The WRENCH @ The Forks: Drop-In Community Tune-Up stands
During The WRENCH @ The Forks drop-in, the general public will be able to fix their bicycle with the assistance of WRENCH staff and volunteers. Everyone is welcome to attend. To ensure that money is not a barrier; services and used parts will be offered by suggested donation (sliding scale) or in exchange for volunteer time.

Winnipeg Urban Fishing Derby
Come and participate in a fantastic shoreline fishing derby for all ages along the Assiniboine River walkway. There are fabulous prizes to be won. Participants must register the day of the derby. Registration starts at 9:00 am the day of the derby at the Forks - under the canopy and the derby runs from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Registration is free; however donations may be made to Never Alone Foundation. There are adult and youth prize categories. Participants must bring their own fishing equipment and bait. No fishing license is required. Participants must follow Manitoba's fishing regulations and the Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) regulations as a portion of the Assiniboine River is located in the Central Control Zone.

Drop the Needle, Pick up the Pace Memorial/Awareness Walk
Winnipeg is on the map as the 16th place in Canada to walk for Overdose Awareness after the first Drop the Needle, Pick up the Pace Memorial Awareness Walk started last year. This August 31, which is International Overdose Awareness Day, the event will continue with Mayor Brian Bowman lighting the Winnipeg Sign up purple.
Schedule of events:
6:00 PM- Registration table opens and Sensational Sound performs. The first 250 people to sign in will receive a complimentary bottle of water and a purple glow stick necklace
7:45 PM- 5K walk begins
Other activities include a raffle, a group photo in front of the Winnipeg Sign before the walk, a hot dog cart on-site, and Miss Market Friends for children!
