Full Moon Ceremony

The Full Moon Ceremony is a collaboration between Sunshine House, Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak Inc MMIWG Liaison Unit (MKO), The Link, Manitoba Moon Voices (MMVI), Women’s Health Clinic (WHC), Inaadiziwin, Native Clan Organization, Inc. (NCO), Manitoba League of Persons with Disabilities and Medicine Bear, Ka Ni Kanichihk. This Ceremony is open to the community at large; all genders and cultures are invited to join together for teachings about feminine energy’s relationship with Grandmother Moon. Anyone who identifies with feminine energy is invited to participate in the Ceremony. Those who identify with masculine energy are invited to attend, but will observe. If you can, we ask relatives to bring your own chair, rattles and/or drums, as well as a water container to fill and take home after the Ceremony (if you wish).

The Forks is a must-stop spot for this year's Nuit Blanche Winnipeg, a free nighttime exploration and celebration of contemporary art held in locations throughout Downtown Winnipeg.

This year, The Forks will be home to a range of exciting events, activations, and installations found throughout the site, including:

Arrive by foot or bike, enjoy a complimentary lift on with the Winnipeg Trolley Company (from 6PM - 12AM), or a free ride on the Water Bus with Winnipeg Waterways (from 6PM - 9PM).

Join The Women's Health Clinic on the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation for Chāpān Teachings. This event celebrates Indigenous healing traditions through laughter, music, and games. Treaty Right to Education : Residential Schools and Reconciliation

On September 30th, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, the Agowiidiwinan Centre at The Forks will host a discussion featuring Treaty Commissioner Loretta Ross and Elders Florence and Philip Paynter. Topics include residential schools, treaty education, and reconciliation.

The event will conclude with a Q&A, closing remarks, and a smudge.
