Eaton's Fairytale Vignettes
The Children’s Museum is pleased to be the home of the last original Eaton’s Fairytale Vignettes Display from the ninth-floor annex of the Eaton’s downtown store – fully restored and open to the public for a limited time only.
From mid-November until mid-January, visitors of all ages will be delighted by the fifteen fun, fairytale vignettes that make up this classic favourite, including Cinderella, Humpty Dumpty, Three Blind Mice, and more. Free with general museum admission. Guided Exhibition Tours are available on Saturdays and Sundays from November 15, 2025, to January 4, 2026, at 2:00 p.m

Mini Mondays
Mondays at the Children’s Museum are very special days. From September – April, join us on Mondays from 10:00AM – 2:00PM for a fun-filled day of stimulating play designed for our youngest visitors, children under 4 years old!
We provide tailored crafts to help develop fine motor skills, activities that aid in dramatic play, and/or a special story time at 11:00AM and 1:00PM. December Activities Theme: Chill Out & Create! - December 8: Icy Ornaments Craft & Snowball Bowling - December 15: Cookies & Milk With Santa – with Cookie Creations Craft & Cookies ‘n Milk Tic-Tac-Toe.

Unleash Your Creativity with Soapstone Carving at The Forks!
Discover the Art of Soapstone Carving! Join us for a one-of-a-kind creative experience with talented carver Fredrick Spence. This hands-on workshop will guide you through the fascinating world of soapstone carving, offering both inspiration and practical skills. Fredrick will begin by sharing his personal journey into this traditional art form, giving insight into the meaning and process behind his work. With his step-by-step guidance, you’ll learn essential carving techniques and create your very own unique sculpture. No experience is necessary—this workshop is designed for all skill levels, from complete beginners to seasoned creators. Find us in the North Atrium (The location where the Pancake House used to be situated).
By the end of the afternoon, you’ll leave with not only a finished soapstone piece but also the pride and joy of having crafted something with your own hands. More than just an art class, this is an opportunity to slow down, connect with your creativity, and enjoy a supportive, inspiring environment.

Open to everyone! Whether you are a long-time member, supporter, or organizer in the environmental movement, looking to get more involved, or just wanting to connect with like-minded folks. Come mix & mingle with MB Environment & Climate NGOs. Appetizers and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided. Additional food and alcoholic drinks are available for purchase in the Forks Market, and can be brought upstairs to the event space.

Boxing Day at the Children's Museum
Bring your creativity to the Children’s Museum this Boxing Day, where we’re celebrating by building with all the cardboard boxes we can find! Join us from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM as we build our own Box Cars & Cardboard Castles!
We’ll provide the supplies—boxes of all shapes and sizes, tools, and fun accessories — to bring your cardboard creation to life.

Top Hats & Tiaras
Join the Manitoba Children's Museum for a festive celebration as they ring in the New Year! Dress up in your fanciest formal wear (they'll supply the top hats and tiaras) and join them for a family-friendly event from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, featuring tasty snacks, a special craft, a souvenir family photo by Pixels & Giggles, live musical entertainment from The Solutions, and more. They'll count down to the New Year at noon with Countdown Emcee, KiSS 102.3’s Drew Kozub, then celebrate with a balloon drop to welcome 2026!
