Explore the science of what’s biting you in the skin-crawling Attack Of The Bloodsuckers! exhibition at the Manitoba Children's Museum! This family-friendly exhibition examines the what, why, when, and how of mosquitoes, fleas, ticks, leeches, and other parasites. Learn why bloodsuckers are important to the ecosystem – and how to keep them out of YOUR system!

National Indigenous Peoples Day at the Children's Museum

Join us on Saturday, June 21 from 11:00AM - 3:00PM as we celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day. This is a day to celebrate and learn about the history and diversity of Indigenous Peoples in Manitoba. Create a bison herd with Ojibwe artist Alice RL, experience traditional storytelling with respected Elder Barb Nepinak, help us build a teepee in Time Squared, and join us for story times at 12:00PM & 2:00PM.

National Indigenous Peoples Day at The Forks

On June 21, The Forks will co-host National Indigenous Peoples Day with the Treaty Relations Commission of Manitoba (TRCM).

The day will be celebrated with Indigenous performers, including dancers, musicians, and DJs. Programming will also include Inuit games, Pitikwé demonstrations at The Plaza Skate Park, a Kookum fashion show, a handmade market, and more. Start Indigenous Peoples Day with a Pipe Ceremony and teachings shared by Elders, honouring the stories, strength, and resilience of Indigenous communities, especially in this moment of significant displacement due to Manitoba’s wildfires.
