Strides for Melanoma Walk for Awareness

On Sunday, September 22, the Melanoma Network of Canada (MNC) is celebrating its annual Strides for Melanoma Walk for Awareness. For the last 8 years, the MNC has worked tirelessly to increase awareness, prevention, and detection of melanoma as well as provide support, access to therapies and services for thousands of patients and their families across Canada. The MNC has also provided funds for research as well as developing educational tools and outreach for kids attending summer camps. This walk helps to raise funds so that MNC can continue to offer services to anyone who needs support and education around melanoma.

We will be gathering at the Forks and walking to the Manitoba Legislative Building, before returning to the area under the Canopy. Kiss 102.3 FM will be on hand to emcee the event, and we will have a Silent Auction, and a 50/50 Draw will be held. We will also be fortunate enough to have the Ukulele Club of Winnipeg provide entertainment.

Voices from Oodena / Voix d’Oodena

Oodena, the natural amphitheatre at The Forks, has been a gathering place for centuries and THIN AIR celebrates that history with a collage of work by writers who have roots here. Gather on the stairs for a magical evening of words in many styles. Bring a jacket—the air cools as the sun sets.
