Art + Human Rights | Droits de la personne

December 10 is Human Rights Day!
 
Join us for Art + Human Rights, a free walking tour exploring art at The Forks and at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR). The tour will be two hours, with the first being outside on The Forks site, and the second being inside the CMHR.
 
This special collaboration will be hosted by curators and interpreters from the National Gallery of Canada, the CMHR, and Synonym Art Consultation, along with artists Val Vint, KC Adams, and Jaimie Isaac. The tour will highlight how art can share human rights stories, reflect the importance of place, and call for action.

Joignez-vous à nous pour Art + Droits de la personne, une visite à pied gratuite pour découvrir l’art à La Fourche et au Musée canadien pour les droits de la personne (MCDP). La visite durera deux heures, la première se déroulant à l’extérieur sur le site de La Fourche, et la seconde à l’intérieur du MCDP.

Full Moon Ceremony

The Full Moon Ceremony is a collaboration between Sunshine House, Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak Inc MMIWG Liaison Unit (MKO), The Link, Manitoba Moon Voices (MMVI), Women’s Health Clinic (WHC), Inaadiziwin, Native Clan Organization, Inc. (NCO), Manitoba League of Persons with Disabilities and Medicine Bear, Ka Ni Kanichihk. This Ceremony is open to the community at large; all genders and cultures are invited to join together for teachings about feminine energy’s relationship with Grandmother Moon. Anyone who identifies with feminine energy is invited to participate in the Ceremony. Those who identify with masculine energy are invited to attend, but will observe. If you can, we ask relatives to bring your own chair, rattles and/or drums, as well as a water container to fill and take home after the Ceremony (if you wish).
