Calling all makers, creators, and craft-curious folks! Join a vibrant community of crafters every Wednesday evening in June for Community & Crafting— a cozy, casual night of crafts + craft beer on the patio at The Forks.

Bring your current craft project — whether it’s needlepoint, loom weaving, felting, air-dry clay, cross-stitch, jewellery making, or something else fun and portable (and preferably not messy or needing dry time). You’ll be in great company, surrounded by others working on their creative projects.

Colouring supplies will be on hand for spontaneous creativity or when you need a break from your masterpiece.

Community & Crafting participants can sip on $10 flights of craft beer from The Common (psst… get your discounted flight from the Crafting team, not at The Common bar itself).

There’s no cost to participate, but donations to the Spring Loading Campaign (in support of The Forks Foundation) are warmly welcomed.

We’ll be crafting it up on the former Muddy Waters patio (just follow the signs!). In case of rain, we’ll move indoors to the second floor lounge balcony. Join us Wednesdays June 4, 11 and 18.

Full Moon Ceremony

The Full Moon Ceremony is a collaboration between Sunshine House, Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak Inc MMIWG Liaison Unit (MKO), The Link, Manitoba Moon Voices (MMVI), Women’s Health Clinic (WHC), Inaadiziwin, Native Clan Organization, Inc. (NCO), Manitoba League of Persons with Disabilities and Medicine Bear, Ka Ni Kanichihk. This Ceremony is open to the community at large; all genders and cultures are invited to join together for teachings about feminine energy’s relationship with Grandmother Moon. Anyone who identifies with feminine energy is invited to participate in the Ceremony. Those who identify with masculine energy are invited to attend, but will observe. If you can, we ask relatives to bring your own chair, rattles and/or drums, as well as a water container to fill and take home after the Ceremony (if you wish).

National Indigenous Peoples Day at The Forks

On June 21, The Forks will co-host National Indigenous Peoples Day with the Treaty Relations Commission of Manitoba (TRCM).

The day will be celebrated with Indigenous performers, including dancers, musicians, and DJs. Programming will also include Inuit games, Pitikwé demonstrations at The Plaza Skate Park, a Kookum fashion show, a handmade market, and more. Start Indigenous Peoples Day with a Pipe Ceremony and teachings shared by Elders, honouring the stories, strength, and resilience of Indigenous communities, especially in this moment of significant displacement due to Manitoba’s wildfires.

Every week is a brand-new adventure where campers will create, discover, learn, and meet new friends as they explore exciting themes related to the museum's galleries and special events. Grouped with others of a similar age, campers will enjoy stimulating, age-appropriate activities all day long. With indoor and outdoor activities, games, crafts, time in the galleries, and special guests, your children are sure to have a memorable week full of adventure!

Join the Children's Museum all summer long for hands-on programming inspired by the season and their summer exhibition, Attack of the Bloodsuckers! From 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM daily, enjoy special activities that include crafts, games, and so much more.

Many Nations, One Heartbeat | June 30

Join us for free daily programming from Indigenous Peoples Day (June 21) to Canada Day (July 1).

“Many Nations, One Heartbeat” is an 11-day celebration that bridges National Indigenous Peoples Day and Canada Day at The Forks. Each day offers free, family-friendly programming curated by creative directors Sunday and Victoria of Kíwétinohk Consulting Firm. It celebrates the Nations who made the Treaties, as well as those who reside on those Treaties today.
