Earth Day: Today + Every Day at The Forks

Posted on Apr 22, 2019 by The Forks Market

We have an impressive goal: zero garbage, zero carbon emissions, and zero water waste at The Forks site. This is The Forks’ Target Zero sustainability initiative year-round. We are taking every step we can to implement innovative and responsible environmental practices that are good for the planet and the bottom line.

Think you got a whiff of french fries of mini donuts out on the river trail? You might have skated up a real hunger...or you might have caught a whiff of the Zamboni fumes!

Help us get an even more accurate count on the number of cyclists coming to or passing through the site - cruise in at the South Main St. entry point (pictured above; closest connection to the Assiniboine bikeway) to get counted by the tracker, rather than the bumpy cobblestone entrance closer to Broadway (unless that's the jolt you need to wake up in the morning!)

You'll also see water taps and glasses available for your thirst-quenching in the Food Hall. Bring your reusable water bottle from home and fill-up on the go, or help yourself to a glass while you're here.

It's a work in progress, but it's a framework that guides us every day!
