As they days get longer and warmer, the whole city has a feeling of spring awakening. If you’re like us and the nicer weather provokes a sudden urge to get of the house and try something new, check out our stacked lineup of workshops this spring.
We have workshops that span just about every type of interest, from photography to makeup to jewelry-making and more, so take a peek below to see what’s on offer in the coming weeks.
Mar. 26, 5-8:30 p.m. – Photography for Beginners
The lovely Rachel and Mairen from Luckygirl Photography will teach you how to curate an enviable Instagram feed with a workshop that focuses on taking amazing photos with your smartphone. This event is for beginners, so before things get started you will be treated to a bit of a pep-talk. Then, the group will head out for a guided shoot around The Forks site, followed by an editing session (including some personal feedback on your photos!) Tickets are $65, which you pre-buy when you register here; make sure to nab them fast as space is limited!
Mar. 28, 6-9 p.m. – Ceramic Workshop with artist Jordan Van Sewell
If you’re looking to dip your toes into the world of ceramic art, there is no better guide than Jordan Van Sewell. In this three-hour workshop, which takes place on the second floor of The Forks Market, you’ll hand-build your own, unique ceramic statue that reflects you! Tickets are $50 (which you pay on arrival) and it’s best to arrive early to guarantee your spot.

If you’re anything like us, that perfect winged liner look has proven to be elusive. Well not anymore! MADE Beauty Co. is coming down to The Forks to offer a lesson in winged liner makeup application, ply you with wine from The Common and fill you up with macarons from Jenna Rae Cakes. Apr. 16, 7-10 p.m. – Travel Manitoba Paint Party
Our province offers up some of the most beautiful landscapes in the country and Travel Manitoba wants to help you capture them on canvas. Participants will choose from four different Manitoba landscapes to paint. If you’re not the most artistically inclined, don’t panic! Workshop hosts will draw out the landscape on your canvas first. All the supplies are provided as part of the $28 ticket cost. Ticket sales end Apr. 9, so you have to book ahead. To register, and for more information, visit Winnipegartandwine.com.
