Nuit Blanche at The Forks

From Nuit Blanche Kid's zone at The Children's Museum to new installations throughout the site, to the Canadian Museum for Human Rights first full Nuit Blanche party - The Forks is a must-stop spot for this year's Nuit Blanche Winnipeg at NBW 2023, which runs from 6:00pm - midnight on Saturday, September 23, 2023.

One Saturday night each fall thousands of art enthusiasts, cultural animators and citizens of Winnipeg gather Downtown to celebrate and explore contemporary art. Here are the activations and installations scheduled at The Forks for this year's celebration:

Children's Museum

  • Mini Nuit Blanche: Enjoy free admission to the Children's Museum, from 6:00pm - 8:30pm.

  • Nuit Blanche Kid's Zone: Special creative programming that includes hands-on activities, film, live performances and much more at the Children's Museum, from 6:00pm - 8:30pm.

  • Graffiti Art Programming: A hip hop workshop that will ignite creativity and get you moving into the night, from 6:00pm - 8:30pm.

Parkade

  • Tadǫetła ; Walk In A Circle: This installation offers a series of six walk cycles, which were created by re-imagining materials from the North as an embodiment of human characteristics and creatures within a 3D environment, will loop for a duration of six hours at The Forks Parkade, from 6:00pm - midnight.

CN Field

  • Godaà ; Presence: This interactive work examines our presence within the current landscape and plays with the relationship between physical and digital as movement shifts perceptions of reality. Godaà will be performed in the forested area at CN Field and will run from 6:00pm-midnight.

Parks Canada

  • Parks Canada Trading Post with Manitoba Opera: Experience stories from the fur trade with interactive activities, and special guest performances by members of Li Keur, Manitoba Opera's upcoming show, at The Forks National Historic Site, from 4:00pm - 10:00pm.

Canadian Museum for Human Rights

  • Nuit Blanche at the CMHR: Enjoy interactive installations and performances at this Nuit Blanche zone, from 6:00pm - midnight.

  • Synapses | With the use of light, sound, and intricately textured mirrors, this installation will explore how universal modes of communication can bridge divides, from 6:00-midnight.

  • Savant Flaneur: Ludochroma (featuring Alex Milevic) | By controlling the lights, visitors can create harmonious interactions between performers, audience and place, at the accessible entrance from 6:00-midnight.
