The Forks is dedicated to cultivating vibrant and inclusive public spaces throughout the site. We're always on the lookout for ways to enrich perspectives and enhance experiences by adding color, light, and vibrancy to the spaces around the site through art and other creative endeavors.
With each new season, fresh viewpoints emerge, offering visitors of The Forks a renewed sense of wonder. Recently, a slew of innovative projects have injected bursts of colour into the walls of The Market, breathing new life into its spaces.
This spring, a captivating public art installation graced the north aisle of The Market. This collaborative piece, titled "La rivyar kii-pimichiwan," meaning "the river flows along," was brought to life by local artists Nadya Crossman-Serb and Jan Castillo.
A tapestry of painted beadwork embellishes a section of the aisle's lower wall, while its floral motifs are echoed in the kite designs found on the windows above.
More recently, a sunset gradient, transitioning from pink to yellow, has illuminated the stairwell in the center aisle, next to Fools and Horses.
As we continue to seek opportunities to creatively enhance the quality of spaces at The Forks, The Market will continue to expand its repertoire of public art and invigorating public spaces. Keep your eyes peeled for what's next!
