Storytelling at Oodena Circle Schedule

• 12:00 p.m and 5:00 p.m. Indigenous Storytelling with Wally Chartrand (45 minutes)
  Join Elder Wally Chartrand for an Indigenous story time at the original gathering place – The Forks!
• 1:00 p.m and 4:00 p.m. Coffieman Afro Rhythms (30 minutes)
  Evans Coffie, or Coffieman, will bring you to your feet with African drumming, music, and beats!
• 2:00 p.m Round Dance with Darryl Buck (30 minutes)
  Darryl Buck of Opaskwayak Cree Nation will be sharing about the Round Dance and helping all who attend to find their own song inside of themselves.
• 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Historical Tours with Elder Barbara Nepinak (60 minutes)
  Tours will start at the top of the stairs to Oodena Celebration Circle.
• 3:00 p.m and 6:00 p.m. Storytelling and Music with Kristen McKay (30 minutes)
  Kristen McKay will share stories and music highlighting the importance of healing across Turtle Island.
• 8:00 p.m and 9:00 p.m. Storytelling and Music with Kristen McKay (30 minutes)
  These spinning, juggling, and hula hooping fire dancers will light up Oodena Circle for your entertainment.

Family and Community Programming Schedule

• from 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. Kimberly and Charisma Hoop Dancing in the CN Field
  Come listen, learn, and be a part of this great Indigenous Hoop Dancing performance and workshop.
• from 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. Chalk your HeART Out along the Broadway Promenade
  Be a part of a beautiful collaborative community chalk art project!
• 12:00 - 5:00 p.m. Youth and Kids Soccer Camp in Parks Canada Field
  Learn warm-up exercises, take part in fun challenges, and participate in soccer games all a part of this fun and engaging soccer camp!
• from 12:00 - 5:00 p.m. Every Child Matters Orange Ribbons and Beaded Bracelets in CN Field
  Make an orange beaded bracelet and take home an orange ribbon. With every bead strung on the bracelet, we remember and honour the children taken from their homes, on this land.
• from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. Finding our North Star Family Arts Area in CN Field
  Art for the whole family! Join us for free activities, including watercolour, drawing and bubbles.
• from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. Basketball at CN Stage
  Join folks from Basketball Manitoba and shoot some hoops!
• from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. North Star Dance Battle
  Led by Eugene “GeNie” Baffoe, come and witness this family friendly hip hop dance battle! You just may learn a few moves too.

Other Points of Interest

• The Forks Market
  • The Forks Market and all tenants will open at their standard times. The Market, all tenants, and The Common will close during the drone
    show at 10:30 p.m.
• Bicycle Valet Winnipeg
  • Bike Valet Winnipeg will be set up in the south roundabout beside The Forks Market. And for no charge, they’ll look after your bicycles, scooters, strollers, skateboards, etc. 
• First Aid
  • The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service will be on-site, offering first aid if needed. Find them located just to the east of the CN Stage and field area inside the MIRV (Major Incident Response Vehicle).
• Lost Child/Person
  
  • There is a lost child/person relocation spot set up between MTYP and the Inn at The Forks. If you are lost, or looking for a lost individual, please connect with our staff at this location.
    
    

Getting Here

• Parking on site is available at $2 hour.
• Anticipate congestion and delays on roadways into the site and through parking lots.
• The parking lot closest to The Forks Market will be closed for the entire day with programming taking place in this space.
• Inbound traffic to The Forks will be closed off at approximately 8 p.m. (dependent on traffic volume).
• All lots will lock down at the start of the drone show (10:30 p.m.) until all pedestrians have been cleared from the site at approximately 11:00 p.m.). We are working with the City of Winnipeg Traffic Management Centre and WPS to ensure smooth exiting once traffic flow begins.

Des récits d’histoires au cercle Oodena

• 12 h et 17 h D’histoires des autochtones avec Wally Chartrand (45 minutes)
  Joignez-vous à l’aîné Wally Chartrand pour écouter des contes autochtones au lieu de rassemblement original – La Fourche!
• 13 h et 16 h Rythmes africains avec Coffieman (30 minutes)
  Evans Coffie, ou Coffieman, vous fera vibrer au son des tambours, de la musique et des rythmes africains!
• 14 h Danse ronde avec Darryl Buck (30 minutes)
  Darryl Buck, de la Nation crie d’Opaskwayak, parlera de la danse ronde et aidera tous les participants à trouver leur propre chanson à l’intérieur d’eux-mêmes.
• 15 h et 17 h Visite historique avec l’aînée Barbara Nepinak (60 minutes)
  Ces visites commenceront en haut de l’escalier menant au cercle Oodena.
• 15 h et 18 h D’histoires des autochtones avec Wally Chartrand (30 minutes)
  Kristen McKay présentera des histoires et de la musique soulignant l’importance de la guérison sur l’île de la Tortue.
• 20 h et 21 h Danse du feu avec The Starr Blazers (30 minutes)
  Ces danseurs de feu, qui tournent, jonglent et dansent avec des cerceaux, illumineront le cercle Oodena pour votre plus grand plaisir.

Familiales et communautaires la programmation

  Venez écouter, apprendre et participer à ce grand spectacle et atelier de danse du cerceau
  autochtone.
• du 12 h - 16 h Project Chalk your HeART Out
  Participez à un magnifique projet communautaire d’art à la craie.
  
• du 12 h - 17 h Camp de soccer pour les jeunes et les enfants à le terrain du Parks Canada
  Apprenez des exercices d’échauffement, prenez part à des dé aux fis amusants et participez à des matchs de soccer, tout cela fait partie de ce camp de soccer amusant et engageant
• du 12 h - 17 h Chaque enfant compte - Rubans orange et bracelets de perles à le terrain du CN
  Fabriquez un bracelet de perles orange et rapportez un ruban orange à la maison. Avec
  chaque perle enfilée sur le bracelet, nous nous souvenons et rendons hommage aux enfants
  arrachés à leur foyer sur cette terre que nous appelons la nôtre.
• du 14 h - 17 h Espace artistique familial À la recherche de notre étoile Polaire à le terrain du CN
  De l’art pour toute la famille! Y compris l’aquarelle, le dessin et les bulles. Venez vous joindre
  à nous pour des activités gratuites sur le terrain près de la scène du CN!
• du 14 h - 19 h Basketball à la scène du CN
  Joignez-vous aux représentants de Basketball Manitoba et faites quelques paniers dans les filets de basketball sous la scène du CN.
• du 17 h 30 - 20 h Compétition de danse North Star à le terrain du CN
  Dirigée par Eugene «GeNie» Baffoe, venez assister en famille à cette compétition de danse
  hip-hop conviviale! Vous y apprendrez peut-être aussi quelques mouvements de danse.

  • Marché de la Fourche et tous les locataires ouvriront à leurs heures habituelles. Le marché, tous les locataires et The Common fermeront pendant le spectacle de drones à 22 h 30.
• Bicycle Valet Winnipeg
  • Bicycle Valet Winnipeg sera installé dans le rond-point sud, à côté du marché de La Fourche. Ils s’occuperont gratuitement de vos vélos, trottinettes, poussettes, planches à roulettes, etc.
• Premiers soins
  • Le Service d’incendie et de soins paramédicaux de Winnipeg sera sur place et offrira les premiers soins en cas de besoin. Il se trouve juste à l’est de la scène et de la zone de terrain du CN, à l’intérieur du véhicule d’intervention en cas d’incident majeur MIRV (Major Incident Response Vehicle).
• Enfant ou personne perdue
  • Un kiosque de relocalisation pour les enfants et les personnes perdus a été aménagé entre le MTYP et l’Inn at The Forks. Si vous êtes perdu, ou si vous cherchez une personne perdue, veuillez communiquer avec notre personnel à cet endroit.

Comment s'y rendre

• Stationnement sur place est disponible à 2 $ l’heure.
• Attendez-vous à des embouteillages et des retards sur les routes menant au site et dans les stationnements.
• Le stationnement le plus proche du marché de La Fourche sera fermé pendant toute la journée en raison des activités qui se dérouleront dans cet espace.
• Le trafic entrant à La Fourche sera fermé vers 20 h (en fonction de l’intensité du trafic).
• Tous les terrains seront fermés au début du spectacle de drones (22 h 30) jusqu’à ce que tous les piétons aient quitté le site (vers 23 h). Nous travaillons avec le centre de gestion du trafic de la Ville de Winnipeg et le Service de police de Winnipeg pour assurer une sortie en douceur une fois que le flot de trafic aura repris.
