Eat Good and Feel Good! Skyr is now open at The Forks.

Posted on Sep 08, 2025 by The Forks Market

There’s a fresh new restaurant at The Forks, and you need to add it to your Winnipeg “must-try” list. Skyr is serving up fresh bowls, smoothies, toasts, and refreshing cold-pressed juices.

Skyr is a delicious NEW food option, but the family behind it has been connected to The Forks Market since it opened in 1989. As the longtime owners of Frogurtz, they’ve been serving visitors for decades, and now they’re turning the page, saying goodbye to Frogurtz and introducing Skyr.

You may be wondering, “Well…what is skyr?” Skyr is a traditional Icelandic dairy product. Think Greek yogurt, but with a smoother texture and milder flavour. Locally sourced and made, they produce their own house-made skyr, using locally sourced organic Manitoba milk.

Must tries for YOU:

  • Beetnik (Fresh Bowl) – Farro, beet patty, arugula, goat cheese, roasted grapes, dill skyr, cranberries, toasted walnuts, and radish.
  • Turmeric Glow (Smoothie) – Orange, mango, peach, banana, turmeric, ginger, raspberry, and Skyr swirl.
  • Scandinavian (Smørrebrød) – Smoked salmon, garlic and herb skyr spread, cucumber, shaved fennel salad, capers, and dill.
