Plant-Based Eats at The Forks!

From April 21-26, 2025, participating food tenants in The Forks Market will be featuring some limited-time and some always-available plant-based menu items for Earth Week. It’s an opportunity to enjoy plant-based, fresh and tasty food at The Forks!

Here’s a look at what you can expect:

Earth Week Plant-Based features:

  • Basta - Rhubarb Sinigang 
    A Filipino sour and savoury broth with tomato, daikon, okra, green beans, spinach and eggplant served with a side of steamed rice.

  • Fools and HorsesStrawberry Matcha Oat Milk Latte on special
    Plus, upgrade to dairy alternatives at no cost this week

  • Fusian ExperiencePad Thai (dry) 
    Rice noodle/crispy tofu/raw bean sprouts/ crushed peanut/cilantro/green onions

  • Habanero SombreroTwo taco platter with chips and salsa fresca
    One pinto bean (Manitoba-grown beans) taco and one mushroom (locally sourced) taco with a side of homemade tortilla chips and salsa fresca

  • Neon ConeEarth Day Vegan ice cream (matcha / blue vanilla)
    Fun fact: it looks like a globe!

  • Nuburger Beet Chips
    Beets, Canola Oil, Sea Salt, available with an herb sour cream dip

  • Simon's Steaks Charred Broccoli
    Crispy, charred broccoli with fresh citrus and garlic seasoning

  • WienerpegThe Original Hotdog with a carrot "weiner"
    A marinated carrot in beef wiener spices that is fried in a corn and rice flour breading, fresh roll and topped with your choice of condiments

  • Zorba'sSpanakopita
    Crispy, flaky  phyllo pastry filled with spinach, onions, feta cheese and herbs with Greek salad

  • Fergie's Fish 'n Chips doesn’t have an official Earth Week special, but they are committed to providing sustainable options like, their fries which  are sourced locally and their signature coleslaw is packed with a medley of veggies increasing its nutritional value.
  • Red Ember Common sources the majority of their ingredients locally, including organic Manitoba wheat milled in Elie, ethically raised free range Berkshire pork for pepperoni and sausages, and tomatoes grown by local farmers into sauce. This week they’re featuring the Crete-za- Organic Manitoba flour crust, dill pesto, goat gouda, roast garlic, spinach, mozzarella and finished with pickled red onion. There’s a lot of locally-grown goodness in this ‘za!
