We’re delighted to join Peg City Car Co-op’s FLO Zone network of 70 hatchback and hybrid electric sedans, available 24/7, as they expanded the service to include The Forks! This expansion provides another destination for their FLO carsharing, where members can come and go in a FLO car whenever they feel like it.
One-way carsharing offers flexible and convenient access to a car when you need it. You can find an available vehicle using the Peg City Car Co-op’s mobile app, pick up a FLO car in one spot and leave it in another location in the FLO zone.
Carsharing brings financial, convenience and environmental benefits, including lower emissions, reduced traffic congestion, increased usage of electric vehicles and less noise pollution. Plus, according to Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, some studies estimate that every shared car could replace 15 individually owned cars. Compared to the pay-as-you-go car sharing model, you can save a lot of money without a car loan, insurance, gas and mechanics’ bills.
At The Forks, we love that carsharing provides a flexible and sustainable mobility solution for visitors and employees to come to and from the site. Carsharing is also aligned with The Forks’ Target Zero goal of zero garbage, zero water waste, and zero carbon emissions.
Carsharing is one of many ways you can get to The Forks. We see all kinds of ways to travel here: visitors arrive on foot, on skateboards and roller skates, by bike, or by taking Winnipeg Public Transit. And, you can utilize the river and arrive by boat and kayak in summer, and on skis and skates in the winter!

How Does Carsharing Work?
Carsharing is a membership-based service that provides flexible transportation solutions for individuals, families, and companies. Members use their online account to book a vehicle where and when they want it. Peg City Car Co-op offers both free-floating (FLO) and round-trip (FIX) carsharing.
FLO vehicles are part of the free-floating carsharing in central downtown. You’ll find them in the FLO Zone, where you can book them for one-way trips (you can drop them off anywhere in the FLO Zone and don’t need to return the vehicle to where you got it).
Peg City Car Co-op also offers FIX vehicle memberships. FIX vehicles are connected to a specific location and are used for round-trip adventures!
There are three levels of membership available from Peg City Car Co-op to match your car-sharing needs. Once you’re signed up, you use their app to book any one of the vehicles in their fleet. FLO and FIX vehicles can be found all over central Winnipeg (with the FLO Zone now including The Forks), making it easy for you to book, grab, and go!
